Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask Review

Light Therapy!
Technology once only available per treatment in the comfort of your dermatologist office. It is now becoming more popularized in the form of at home treatment systems.

This is a great thing because it has been proven to have many benefits from promoting collagen production to acne treatment.
Not only are at home treatment systems becoming more popular but with more and more companies making their own version pricing is becoming more competitive and therefore more affordable.

One of the more affordable light therapy options out there would be the Neutrogena Light Therapy mask. Retail price $40 for the mask itself and then $14-$16 for the 30 use activator.
Pretty reasonable!
But is it effective?

I just picked up one for myself and I am happy toe let you know!
YES!
I made a point to pick up this product when when skin was fully freaking out due to stress the winter months and everyones favorite hormones.
This lack of sun is not my skins favorite thing.

My cystic breakouts diminished in size after one use and then continued to disappear leaving no damage after 10 days of use.
This is amazing. As I’m sure so many of you know cystic breakouts are very deep and having them disappear quickly is only wishful thinking.
I am currently on my second round of 30 day sessions and I am only seeing more improvements. Breakouts vanish before they even appear. I believe I have found my winter skin saver.

Needless to I can’t recommend this product enough.
I may even branch out to higher end light therapy products just to do a comparison.
But in my book this product is successful and worth the investment. IMG_4036

Unicorn Hair

A few weeks ago I decided to take the plunge and finially book my appointment to have the fashion colors I have wanted for months done!
Mostly my bravery was all thanks to my wonderful friend who has rocked fashion colors for the last few years.

Although it was very nervous about doing something so drastic to my hair I was also very excited.
It wasn’t the fact that I didn’t think I could pull it off, more of the fact that I was uncertain if it would turn out the way I had pictured it in my mind.

I arrived bright and early at the salon for my 11am and I didn’t end up leaving until 4pm!
It is a very lengthy time wise since it is a two step dying process and the colors have to be hand blended in the middle to achieve the most natural look.

The first step was the lightener!

Who knew my hair could be that blonde!
But I actually kind of liked it, it was very interesting!

Next was step two where my colorist mixed the colors purple and pink and began hand painting each individual color into my hair!

This took the longest because I have very thick hair.
Then I had to sit for an hour to let the color process!

But as you can see even though I was at the salon for a very long time the end result as worth it!

Final thoughts on fashion colors, I absolutely love it and I am so happy I went ahead and did it!!
I’m looking forward to my next color change!
I don’t think I can ever go back to having normal hair now!

Have you ever tried and crazy colors?
Do you have any suggestions on what my next colors should be?
Tell me in the comments!

Summer Makeup Favorites

Summer is a very exciting time for me everything is in full bloom, bright and new and it’s the perfect time for a change of pace. Summer is the time where I start to look for new makeup to try, since if you are anything like me you tend to turn a few shades darker, thanks to the sun drenching the surroundings.
That being said my winter foundation just falls short making me seem more like a ghost.

Taking any excuse I can to go shopping I took to some of my favorite social media platforms to see what the must have ranges were for Summer 2016!

The range that caught my interest the most was the “Rainforest of the Sea” line by Tarte. I pride myself on being quite the foundation lover and have tried many different brands but I had yet to try or add a water based foundation to my collection.

Also the sound of the word “water based” made it seem like the perfect summer product because it made me instantly think of swimming and summer storms.
I went ahead a ordered the shade that I though would suit me best for the upcoming summer months along with canceler and a few of the limited edition clay pot waterproof eyeliners.

Having tested them out over the past few weeks I can say with confidence that I made the right decision. The Tarte, Rainforest by the Sea foundations are super light and build-able. It looks very natural and doesn’t even feel like you are wearing foundation, which I think is perfect for summer.

The clay pot liners also lived up to my expectations and I couldn’t be more pleased. They are truly waterproof and relatively flake free, even after a long day of wear. THE BEST NEWS OF ALL! All of these products even lasted nicely during a full day at the beach, swimming and then swimming again.

What are a few of your favorite products for summer? I would love to know

Rachel
